’Deposition’ of

Franco Vimercati to

Art gallery San Fedele

Milano, 2002
This book was published by Il Sole 24 Ore and illustrates the architectural process architecture through sketches, models and project drawings that gradually become working drawings. It shows the progress in the construction of a building, which is then certified by a photograph.
We used printing as creative architecture, as if the project regarded the urban planning of an image, a city made of letters, type and pleasant spaces, harmoniously balanced with pictures on which all could pause to breathe, and adopting the light, transparent and functional criteria of the great work by Renzo Piano.

Aldo Rossi
Two little cult books among young architects but I have also heard from his practice that the master was very pleased with them. The first Un legno geniale contains Aldo Rossi’s thought on crafts and furniture
and their relationship with architecture. As well as drawings and photographs of furniture he designed for Molteni&C, it includes a large drawing by the great master.

The second is a “Notebook’, a ’souvenir’ of his 1990 New York exhibition in the Unifor premises. It contains a text, photographs of his office, personal drawings and the works on show.

The ’Cinque Piazze per Milano’ national design competition and the ’Piazze 2001’ international design competition. The material shown in this book represents a complex array of thoughts on the ’piazza’, the most typical and distinctive urban space in Italian social tradition.
